Policies & Procedures

The camp has a busy itinerary that requires the commitment of everyone involved to be committed and respectful to one another. We want the camps to work for everyone who attends and will work to this aim.

Child Protection

All of the Staff at Broomhill Camps are fully disclosure checked through Disclosure Scotland

There is a qualified First Aider at every camp.

We take the welfare of children attending our camps very seriously.  Accidents and Incidents are recorded and are brought to the attention of Parents and Carers either at the end of a day or instantly if of a serious nature.

Broomhill Camps do not accept any type of bullying, bad language or disobeying the rules.

Registration

There is a daily registration process where you will drop off your children and collect them. We require every child to be registered in and out of the camp by a Parent or an adult you have told us will do this for you.

If you have a child who is travelling independently we need to know about this otherwise we will not let them leave the camp

Medication

If your child requires medication that you require a member of staff to administer we require written instruction from you.

Sun Cream

We advise that sun cream is applied by you before the start of each day. We will have sun block or a high factor cream that will be applied via a spray to Children at the camp if deemed necessary by the camp staff.

Behaviour

We expect that every child will behave well at the Camps. This includes cooperating and listening to the Coaches and respecting and cooperating with the other children. We will not tolerate bullying of any type.

Where we feel that there is a problem with a Child at the camp we may well exclude them from taking part in our activities and this may lead to them being excluded from camp all together

Where possible we will try and work though problems but will always put the health, happiness and well being of the children first when considering issues of behaviour.

Being tidy

We expect every child to pick up after themselves and carry out any clear up instructions given to them by the Coaches. We want children to be responsible and expect them to keep the premises we use tidy and respect the facilities we use.  We will also be promoting hand washing and good hygiene before eating and after using the bathroom.

Special Needs

The Camps are open to everyone and where a child has special needs we will make a judgement if we are able to support that child at the Camp. We want the camps to work for everyone and we are looking for Parents to support and help us achieve this.

Photographs & Media

From time to time we will take photographs and video recordings to use on our web site and in advertising our camps. If you do not want your child to feature in this way please let us know at the time of booking.

Children may want to take their own photos too of their friends. We do not allow the use of mobile phones through the day but will organise an opportunity for the group to take their pictures.

Belongings

Children are responsible for their own possessions.

We do recommend that children do not bring valuable items to the camp that would be missed if lost.

We require the completion of an application form and payment before we can confirm a booking. Confirmation will be confirmed by email or post depending how we receive your application.
